Present Day Demonics....

We should talk a bit about the dynamics of evil as it relates to the personal demonic spirits. Briefly, I'll just say to start this, that there was a time in my theology (since becoming preterist), that i viewed all demonic personalities as being in the Lake of Fire along with Satan. Since then, i have been reconsidering that viewpoint as i have continued to scour the bible for more info on these creatures. There's no question in my mind that Satan is in the Lake (Rev. 1:1,3...20:10...22:6, 10, 12, 20). As you can from the ref's, the beginning and ending passages of Revelation, act as bookends that inform us that the things contained within the book of Rev, were to occur quickly, soon, etc. This would have to include Satan being cast into the Lake in 20:10.
Conclusion:Satan is in the lake and is no longer active at all concerning earthly influence himself since AD 70 as he is under the most horrifying of all sufferings of punishment and judgment.
The demons are not "fallen angels", as 2 Pt. 2:4 and Jd. 6 say, that they had been kept in pits of darkness (after they fell- whenever that was),until the judgment of the great day, which took place in AD 70 (in the spiritual realm- which is where it always was going to take place)... So as of then, the angels that fell are in the Lake. Who then are these evil, unclean spirits, or demons and are they still around?

So, that means we can still cast out demons today? Dr. B. Have you ever encounter any demonic activities or cast out any demons? Would you say that the mental disorders in our society today and around the world such as; schizophrenia,bipolar,multiple personality disorders,etc could be the result of demonic influence whether on a small or large scale? And it could be dealt with, through the leading of the Holy Spirit and the Word?

Hi Clad.... My studied opinion according to scripture and all the evidence i continue to amass in testimonies and reports from many different points of view and from various sections of Church history in the past and present, that leads to me to believe that there is "something" of a demonic nature and personality that is still very much active in the world today that we could very easily line up with what the bible refers to as those who are demonized or possessed. I have never personally and directly encountered a person who manifested a demon speaking through them and taking supernatural action and manifestation. But i believe that they are out there. It is not as active in its fullest manifestation as it was in the first century and there are many reasons for this, but i no longer doubt as to their presence.

Yes, i do believe that in some cases, people who exhibit various "mental" disorders, could in fact be manifesting demonic possession.

One more thing i should probably throw in here... Many years ago, before i was preterist, I encountered folks who "said" they had a demon, or someone who was seeking for someone else to have me cast it out, and i must say, that for everyone one of these type encounters, mostly the "manifestations" were in the minds and actions of the people themselves and were certainly not the actual manifestation of a demonic spirit. I could tell you stories.....
