    Resurrection, Satan, future

    Post  apolojedi2 on Tue Feb 09, 2010 9:11 pm

    Hi Dr. Birks,
I've been listening to your podcast and really appreciate your teaching.

    1. Can you help me understand the nature of the Resurrection and how it took place at 70a.d.?

    2. If satan and his pals have been thrown into the lake of fire, what do you make of occultic activity today?

    3. What awaits the Christian and non-Christian in the afterlife? And does this world continue on forever?

    Hello apolojedi....

    You asked,

    Hi Dr. Birks,
I've been listening to your podcast and really appreciate your teaching.

    1. Can you help me understand the nature of the Resurrection and how it took place at 70a.d.?

Me...That question requires a large answer. Best thing to do is to listen to my Cd's on this subject by going to charlescoty.com.... Chuck has posted all my Second Coming Series there and can be listened to for free. You can also write to me at my personal Email, ktestify2truth@aol.com, and i'll try to be more specific for you there.

    2. If satan and his pals have been thrown into the lake of fire, what do you make of occultic activity today?

Me... Through further study on the subject, I have come to believe that Satan is indeed in the Lake of Fire as Rev. 20 states. The demons, however.... while there are statements as to the fallen angels going into the lake at "the judgement" of AD 70 (2 Pet. 2:4, Mt. 25:41), the spirits known as demons, it seems to me now, are still active. When will they be terminated? The scripture does not specifically say, but you can bet it will happen.

    3. What awaits the Christian and non-Christian in the afterlife? And does this world continue on forever?

Me... Ecc. 1:4 as well as Ps. 104:5, 119:90 and others, teach that this earth will abide forever. 2Pet. 3 is using Hebraic language that Peter's Jewish receptors would have been familiar with, in describing the overthrow of the old jewish world with it's temple in Jerusalem. As to what awaits the believer after they depart this life, Lk. 19 and similar passages, teach that we will have rewards of ruling and reigning under Christ as our responsibilities. The bible does not specifically say "what" we will be ruling over, in so many words.
